Honest arithmetic

Freed-up hours are not saved money yet

Many suppliers convert saved hours straight into euros and put that on the quote as a saving. That only holds if you genuinely need fewer staff — and at most companies that is not what happens.

What usually does happen: the same people do work that is currently left undone, lead times drop, and growth does not immediately require an extra pair of hands. That is real value, but it is capacity rather than cash flow.

That is why we call it potential labour value above. What it becomes financially is decided by what you do with those hours.

When it does become money

An open vacancy that no longer needs filling
Temporary staff or overtime at peaks that fall away
Absorbing growth without the admin growing with it
Errors that cost money: duplicate payments, wrong deliveries, credit notes
Invoicing sooner, so money arrives sooner
